Principal Investigator:
Dr. Seetha Raghavan is a Professor of Aerospace Engineering at Embry‑Riddle Aeronautical University Daytona Beach campus. She received her doctoral degree in Aeronautics and Astronautics from Purdue University in 2008 and her masters degree in Aeronautics and Space Technologies at SUPAERO, France. Prior to this, she completed her Bachelors in Mechanical Engineering at Nanyang Technological University, Singapore. She is an Associate Fellow of the American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics, Fellow of the Royal Aeronautical Society and Senior Member of the National Academy of Inventors. She serves as the Editor-in-Chief of AIAA’s Progress in Astronautics and Aeronautics Series.
Dr Raghavan has 7 years of work experience in the aerospace industry at Singapore Technologies Aerospace (a subsidiary of ST Engineering) where she was a senior engineer involved in Aircraft Structural Analysis, Aircraft Maintenance, Repair & Modifications. Her notable contributions include internal loads, stress analysis and weight and balance computations for the structural upgrade of F-5 aircraft and research & development in Automated non-destructive inspection for Fatigue cracks detection using Ultrasonic and Eddy current techniques for which she holds a joint patent. During her time in France, she worked with Messier Bugatti in Vélizy, designing and executing the static and fatigue test plan for the S-92 wheels and brakes.
